Home-Centered One-on-One Applied Behavior Analysis ABA/IBI Therapy
IBI/ABA is a treatment method which has been clinically proven to help children learn. It is backed by research from the Princeton Child Development Institute in New Jersey, and the Lovaas team in UCLA, which demonstrate that an intensive education program founded on Behavior Principles/Applied Behavior Analysis (A.B.A), helps a child make significant, long-lasting learning gains and assists in behaviour modification.
Studies indicate that results are most effective when children start before the age of 5, and when treatment is intensive set at a minimum of 20-25 hours/week.
One-on-one IBI/ABA therapy in the home is ideal for most families especially those with a busy lifestyle and schedule. Our skilled and experienced therapists implement IBI therapies in the convenience and privacy of your home.
Description of in-home sessions:
- A session at home will resemble a tutoring session and play;
- Sessions may last between 2-4 hours per day, 5-7 days per week, depending on what is involved in each session and on the child’s needs. Sessions are available between the hours of 8:30am to 8:30pm;
- A recommended minimum number of therapy hours per week are 10 hours. Maximum: 40 hours per week. Each child’s needs differ and therefore the intensity of therapy or the number of hours necessary will vary. This will be discussed during your consultation;
- ACIS employs a minimum of two therapists per child;
- Improvement in the child is most noticeable when the sessions are consistent and intense.
